Fraud

800+ Quarles St

October 3, 2023 – 11:35AM

Officers spoke with a reporting party who believed they had been the victim of a fraud. The victim

exchanged messages on Facebook Messenger with a subject who stated they would give them a specific

amount of money depending on how much money the victim would give them in gift cards. The victim

purchased the gift cards and gave the information to the subject and did not receive anything in return. .

The Patrol Division is investigating. (Incident #2306464)


Warrant Service

900+ Burks Hill Rd

October 4, 2023 – 12:15AM

Officers were conducting routine patrol in Liberty Lake Park when they observed two subjects walking in

the roadway. During the encounter, it was determined that one of the individuals was wanted out of

Roanoke County for a failure to appear charge. Angel Shively, 27, of Bedford was taken into custody and

transported to the magistrate where she was served and released on an unsecured bond. (Incident

October 4, 2023 – 3:33PM

Officers observed a subject known from previous encounters walking down the street. They checked his

wanted status with dispatch. It was confirmed that Edward Wooldridge, 55, of Bedford was wanted

from Roanoke for a probation violation. Woolridge was taken into custody and transported to the Blue

Ridge Regional Jail where he was held without bond. (#2306496)

800+ Burks Hill Rd

October 4, 2023 – 5:53PM

Officers observed a subject known from previous encounters walking down the street. Officers knew the

subject to have several active warrants. The warrants were confirmed with dispatch and Jamison Jones,

42, of Bedford was taken into custody. He was transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail and granted a

secured bond. (Incident #2306498)


Destruction of Property/Burglary

1131 Park St

October 6, 2023 – 7:34AM

Officers responded to 1131 Park Street in reference to a property damage call for service. Upon arrival,

officers found damage to multiple tombstones and facilities on the property of the cemetery. The

Detective Bureau is investigating. (#2306527)

October 6, 2023 – 3:38PM

Officers responded to 1400 block of Park Street in reference to a report of property damage. The

Disturbance/Warrant Service

700+ Blue Ridge Ave

October 6, 2023 – 10:50PM

Officers responded to the 700 block of Blue Ridge Avenue for the report of a disturbance. Contact was

made with an underage subject who appeared to be intoxicated. While officers were attempting to

identify the other subjects on scene, it was determined that one of the subjects had given the officers a

fake name. Once their real identity was confirmed, officers discovered they had an active capias out of

Campbell County. Jamique Wright, 22, of Lynchburg was taken into custody and transported to the Blue

Ridge Regional Jail. Additional warrants for false ID to law enforcement and resisting/obstruction were

also obtained against him. Wright was held without bond. Officers also obtained an underage

consumption charge on the other individual, who was identified as Savannah Gatewood, 18, of

Bedford. (Incident #2306544)

1126 E Lynchburg Salem Tpke

October 10, 2023 – 10:55PM

Officers were conducting proactive patrol at Walmart when they recognized a subject known from

previous encounters. They checked his wanted status with dispatch and confirmed that the subject had

an active warrant. Brian Vandyke, 50, of Bedford was taken into custody and transported to the jail and

released on an unsecured bond. (Incident #2306608)


Trespassing

1600+ Forest Rd

October 11, 2023 – 3:12AM

Officers responded to the Stop In gas station on Forest Road to make contact with a subject who had

been calling into dispatch and cursing at them. There was a subject sitting on a bench on the property.

The property was posted for no trespassing after hours. Michael Albritton, 28, of Bedford was taken to

the magistrate where officers obtained a trespassing warrant against him. Albritton was held without

October 11, 2023 – 12:03PM

Officers observed a traffic violation and suspicious driving behavior that resulted in a traffic stop. During

the traffic stop officers located suspected narcotics. The Patrol Division is investigating. (#2306615)

700+ Peaks St

October 11, 2023 – 5:34PM

Officers responded to the 700 block of Peaks Street for the report of a burglary. The Patrol Division is

Possible Narcotics

400+ N Bridge St

October 15, 2023 – 10:22AM

Officers overheard a BOL (be on lookout) for a vehicle reported to be driving all over the road. Officers

located the reported vehicle and observed a traffic violation that resulted in a traffic stop. During the

traffic stop officers located suspected narcotics. The Patrol Division is investigating. (#2306692)


Drugs/Narcotics Violation

900+ Blue Ridge Ave

October 15, 2023 – 5:32PM

Officers observed suspicious driving behavior that resulted in a traffic stop. After further investigation

Terra Moeller, 45, of Moneta was taken into custody and transported to the magistrate where warrants

were obtained for possession of controlled substances, driving revoked while under the influence,

failure to have an ignition interlock system installed on the vehicle, open container, and refusal.

October 15, 2023 – 10:47PM

Officers responded to the 700 block of Blue Ridge Avenue in reference to a reported complaint. While

on scene investigating the complaint, officers came into contact with an individual who was wanted on

two capiases. Carlton Begley, 18, of Moneta was taken to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail. (#2306702)


Stolen Vehicle Located

1100+ W Lynchburg Salem Tpke

October 16, 2023 – 12:17PM

Officers were conducting patrol on the 1100 block of West Lynchburg Salem Turnpike when they located

a suspicious vehicle. Officers confirmed with dispatch that the vehicle was stolen Roanoke. (#2306711)


Public Intoxication

1603 Oakwood St

October 20, 2023 – 2:25AM

Officers responded to the area of Oakwood Street for the report of an individual who appeared to be

under the influence. When officers arrived on scene and made contact with the subject, it was

determined that they were intoxicated. Amanda Moyer, 38, of Huddleston was subsequently taken into

custody and transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail where a charge was obtained against her for

public intoxication. (#2306775)


Fraud

1100+ E Lynchburg Salem Tpke

October 20, 2023 – 9:23AM

Officers took a phone call from an individual who dropped or left their debit card at a gas station. The

individual identified multiple fraudulent charges made on the card since it had left their possession.

After further investigation, officers were able to identify the individual that had been making the

fraudulent purchases on the debit card. Officers obtained warrants for credit card theft, credit card

fraud, and two warrants for obtaining goods by false pretenses. Amy Woods, 47, of Bedford was taken

before the magistrate and released on an unsecured bond. (#2306776)

October 23, 2023 – 5:30PM

Officers spoke with an individual who reported that they have been talking to a subject on Facebook

Messenger and have been sending the subject various amounts of money over the course of two

months. The caller stated the subject needed help for moving expenses. The caller believes they have

been defrauded. The Patrol Division is investigating. (#2306863)


Larceny from Auto

800+ Judd St

October 25, 2023 – 8:46AM

Officers responded for the report of a larceny of a purse and blank checks from a vehicle. The victim

believes the vehicle had been left unlocked. The Patrol Division is investigating. (Incident #2306900)


Larceny – Shoplifting

1126 E Lynchburg Salem Tpke

October 25, 2023 – 11:31AM

Officers responded to Walmart for the report of a subject that was found on video to be shoplifting.

Officers responded and talked with Megan Crabtree, 23, of Bedford and subsequently issued her a

summons for petit larceny. (#2306901)


Destruction of Property

October 26, 2023 – 9:09AM

Officers responded for the report of a car that had been vandalized. An unknown subject had slashed

the victim’s tire. The Patrol Division is investigating. (#2306926)

October 30, 2023 – 9:31PM

Officers responded to the Dollar General on Baldwin Street in regards to a larceny. The Patrol Division is

October 30, 2023 – 10:24PM

Officers responded for the report of a larceny of a drill from the back porch of a residence. The Patrol

Officers observed an equipment violation and suspicious driving behavior that resulted in a traffic stop.

During the traffic stop officers located suspected narcotics. The Patrol Division is investigating.
