September 2, 2023 – 2:18PM

Officers responded for the report of a larceny of a firearm from a vehicle. The Patrol Division is investigating. (Incident #2305704)


Larceny/Warrant Service

1126 E Lynchburg Salem Tpke

September 2, 2023 – 6:08PM

Officers responded for the report of a subject who had been stopped by asset protection for suspected larceny of merchandise but proceeded to leave the store. Officers later contacted the suspect on Main Street and determined that they had active capiases for failing to appear in court. Mandwolyn Nicely, 45, of Huddleston was transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail where she was served her active capiases along with a petit larceny warrant that officers obtained. DUI Arrest

Dr. MLK Jr. Bypass

September 4, 2023 – 10:27PM

Officers observed a traffic violation that resulted in a traffic stop. As a result of the traffic stop Gustavo Loredo-Morales, 21, of Roanoke was taken into custody and transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail where charges were obtained again him for Driving Under the Influence 2nd Offense, Open Container, and Driving Without a License. Public Intoxication

700+ Peaks St

September 5, 2023 – 9:18PM

Officers responded for the report of a suspicious subject in the caller’s front yard hiding behind the bushes, who became startled when the caller turned the outside light on. The subject had also left some items in the caller’s yard. When officers arrived on scene and made contact with the subject, it was determined that they were intoxicated. Joshua Johnston, 33, of Bedford was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail where a charge was obtained against him for public intoxication. Larceny – Shoplifting

558 Blue Ridge Ave

September 6, 2023 – 12:18PM

Officers responded for the report of a subject attempting to shoplift. Officers responded and located the subject walking on foot in the area. Officers made contact with the subject and discovered items consistent with the reported shoplifting in their possession. Benjamin Fields, 48, of Blacksburg was taken into custody and transported to the magistrate where a charge was obtained for petit larceny. (#2305797)


Fraud

1000+ E Lynchburg Salem Tpke

September 8, 2023 – 4:27PM

Officers spoke with a reporting party who believed they had been the victim of a fraud. The victim was contacted by phone by a subject that referred to themselves as “James” and stated that they were calling to assist the victim with their Google account. The suspect had the victim issue a check and send a photo of the check to them. The victim’s bank was able to close the account before any funds were taken out of it. After some research done by officers, it appears this is a common scam where the scammers attempt to solicit funds by tricking potential victims into believing they have an issue with their Google account. Warrant Service

700+ Industrial Ave

September 9, 2023 – 7:50PM

Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of Industrial Ave. After further investigation it was determined that one of the occupants of the vehicle had given the officer a fake name. Once their real identity was confirmed, officers discovered that they had an active capias out of Lynchburg. Sarah Jamerson, 37, of Pamplin was taken into custody and transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail where she was served with an active capias. An additional warrant for false ID to law enforcement was also obtained against her. (Incident #2305882)


DUI Arrest

400+ W Main St

September 10, 2023 – 12:42AM

Officers observed a traffic violation and suspicious driving behavior that resulted in a traffic stop. Jose Fernando Gonzalez, 21, of Bedford was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail where a warrant for Driving Under the Influence was obtained against him. Gonzalez was set to be held until sober. (#2305895)


Destruction of Property

720 Blue Ridge Ave

September 10, 2023 – 7:34PM

Officers responded for the report of a car that had been vandalized. An unknown subject had scratched profanity into the side of the victim’s vehicle. The Patrol Division is investigating. (#2305899)


Warrant Service

800+Woodhaven Dr

September 11, 2023 – 11:44PM

Officers observed a traffic violation and suspicious driving behavior that resulted in a traffic stop. During the stop, it was confirmed that the driver had an outstanding warrant for Driving Under the Influence. Nicholas Smith, 44, of Bedford was taken into custody and transported to the magistrate where he was granted a secured bond. (#2305937)

September 12, 2023 – 10:31PM

Officers observed an equipment violation that resulted in a traffic stop. During the traffic stop officers located suspected narcotics. The Patrol Division is investigating. (#2305958)

September 14, 2023 – 10:12AM

Officers responded for the report of a fraud involving a gaming machine. The Patrol Division is investigating. (#2305996)

1000+ Hampton Ridge

September 14, 2023 – 5:51PM

Officers responded for the report of a fraud. The caller received a suspicious bank statement by mail. The caller believes someone may have stolen their identity to open the account. The Patrol Division is investigating. (#2306010)


DUI Arrest

1536 Oakwood St

September 15, 2023 – 5:23PM

Officers responded for the report of a vehicle crash with injury and damage to a utility pole. As a result of the investigation, Mark Ellis, 62, of Huddleston was taken into custody and transported to the Magistrate and a summons for Driving Under the Influence was obtained against him. Driving Revoked Arrest

September 16, 2023 – 3:58PM

Officers observed a vehicle with an obscured license plate traveling east on 460. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and as a result of their investigation Eric Jones, 37, of Lynchburg was taken into custody and transported to the Magistrate where a charge for driving revoked was obtained. DUI Arrest

1700+ Moneta Rd

September 17, 2023 – 9:09PM

Officers observed a vehicle with a tire that appeared to be shredded. The vehicle was traveling approximately 15mph with hazard lights flashing. The driver pulled off to the side of the road. When officers approached to see if the driver needed assistance, they noticed the driver was slurring their words and unsteady on their feet. After further investigation David Howell, 50, of Bedford was taken into custody and transported to the magistrate where officers obtained a felony DUI warrant and a felony driving DUI revoked warrant. He was set to be held without bond. (#2306096)

September 18, 2023 – 10:30AM

Officers responded to the 800 block of Short Street in regards to a larceny. The caller stated an item was stolen from their apartment and that the door was unlocked. The Patrol Division is investigating. (#2306119)


DUI Arrest

900+ Blue Ridge Ave

September 21, 2023 – 1:30AM

Officers observed an equipment violation and suspicious driving behavior that resulted in a traffic stop. After further investigation Steven Lanham, 38, of Lynchburg was taken into custody and transported to the magistrate where warrants were obtained for felony DUI, possession of controlled substances, possession of paraphernalia, driving revoked DUI related, and a summons for loud exhaust. Trespassing

1000+ Poindexter Ln

September 22, 2023 – 4:05PM

Officers responded to Poindexter Lane in reference to a suspicious subject walking on the property with a flashlight. Officers arrived and located the subject, who had been barred from the property approximately two months prior. Chad Craig, 53, of Forest was taken into custody and transported to the magistrate where a misdemeanor warrant was obtained for trespassing. Craig was released on an unsecured bond. (#2306213)


DUI Arrest

900+ Pinecrest Ave

September 24, 2023 – 10:06PM

Officers responded to the 900 block of Pinecrest Avenue for the report of a traffic crash involving two mailboxes, another vehicle, and a utility pole. After the traffic investigation was conducted, officers conducted a DUI investigation. At the conclusion of that investigation Milton Bernal-Mendoza, 27, of Lynchburg was taken into custody and transported to the magistrate where a warrant was obtained for driving under the influence. September 25, 2023 – 12:00PM

Officers responded to the 900 block of Blue Ridge Ave in reference to a fraud. The Patrol Division is investigating. (#2306310)


Possible Narcotics

1000+ East Main St

September 28, 2023 – 4:02PM

Officers responded to the 1000+ of East Main St in an attempt to contact a wanted individual. When contact was made and the subject was placed under arrest officers located suspected narcotics. (#2306360)


Warrant Service

1126 East Lynchburg Salem Tpke

September 29, 2023 – 10:13PM

Officers were conducting a foot patrol at Walmart on East Lynchburg Salem Turnpike when they observed an individual that saw them and immediately walked the opposite way. Officers knew the individual from previous encounters and checked her wanted status with dispatch. It was confirmed that Angela Holden, 49, of Bedford was wanted out of Roanoke County for a probation violation. She was transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail and held without bond. (#2306387)
