November 3, 2023 – 10:45PM

Officers observed suspicious driving behavior that resulted in a traffic stop. As a result of the traffic stop

Kimberly Wood, 49, of Bedford was taken into custody and transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail

where a charge of driving under the influence was obtained against her. (Incident #2307137)


Larceny – Shoplifting

1126 E Lynchburg Salem Tpke

November 4, 2023 – 3:52PM

Officers responded for the report of a subject who had been stopped by asset protection for suspected

shoplifting. Mary Lilley, 33, of Bedford was issued a summons for petit larceny as well as a summons for

trespassing as she had been previously barred from the Bedford Walmart. (Incident #2307151)


Larceny from Auto

1200+ Park St

November 5, 2023 – 2:19AM

Officers responded for the report of a larceny of money from a vehicle. The victim said their vehicle was

unlocked. The Patrol Division is investigating. (Incident #2307163)


Larceny - Shoplifting

1126 E Lynchburg Salem Tpke

November 5, 2023 – 7:53PM

Officers responded for the report of a subject who had been stopped by asset protection for suspected

larceny of merchandise but proceeded to leave the store. When officers arrived, the subject was loading

items into their car and would not identify themselves. The subject was later determined to be Lachelle

Starks, 31, of Bedford and was issued a summons for petit larceny. (Incident #2307173)

November 5, 2023 – 10:38PM

Officers responded for the report of a larceny of money. The victim lost his wallet at McDonalds and

when he came back to retrieve the wallet there was money missing from it. The patrol division is

investigating. (Incident #2307178)


Weapons Violation

1126 E Lynchburg Salem Tpke

November 6, 2023 – 11:06AM

Officers responded to Walmart for the report of a dispute involving a purchase. When officers made

contact with the subject they were made aware of a firearm inside of his vehicle. After further

investigation David Colon, 59, of Wytheville was taken into custody and transported to the magistrate

where warrants were obtained against him for 2 weapons related offenses. David Colon was released on

an unsecured bond. (Incident #2307184)

November 7, 2023 – 2:33AM

Officers observed suspicious driving behavior that resulted in a traffic stop. After further investigation

Daniel Elmore, 37, of Bedford was taken into custody and transported to the magistrate where

warrants were obtained for possession with intent to distribute. (Incident #2307203)


DUI Arrest/Warrant Service

856 Burks Hill Rd

November 7, 2023 – 10:42PM

Officers were at the Shell Station when they observed a driver demonstrating suspicious driving

behavior. Officers on scene discovered that the registered owner of the vehicle was wanted out of

Bedford County. When officers approached the vehicle in an attempt to identify the driver, the driver

admitted to recent illicit substance use. As a result of this encounter, Bedford Police took Michael

Heller, 48, of Bedford into custody on the outstanding warrant, and also obtained an additional charge

of driving under the influence. (Incident #2307221)

November 9, 2023 – 3:34AM

Officers observed suspicious driving behavior that resulted in a traffic stop. During the traffic stop

officers located suspected narcotics. The Patrol Division is investigating. (Incident #2307243)


Larceny – Shoplifting

1126 E Lynchburg Salem Tpke

November 9, 2023 – 9:49PM

Officers responded to the Bedford Walmart for the report of a subject that was found on video to be

shoplifting. Officers responded and talked with Carol Leftwich, 59, of Thaxton and subsequently issued

her a summons for petit larceny. (Incident #2307260)

November 11, 2023 – 3:50PM

Officers responded to Walmart for the report of a subject that was found on video to be shoplifting.

Officers met with a subject who originally gave false information about themselves to the officers. The

subject was later determined to be Stephanie Jamerson, 50, of Goode. Ms. Jamerson was taken into

custody and transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail where charges for petit larceny and false ID to

law enforcement were obtained against her. She was released on an unsecured bond. (Incident

November 15, 2023 – 10:43PM

Officers observed suspicious driving behavior and a traffic violation that resulted in a traffic stop. As a

result of the traffic stop Nicole Wimmer, 50, of Bedford was taken into custody and transported to the

Blue Ridge Regional Jail where a charge of driving under the influence was obtained against her.

November 17, 2023 – 10:02PM

Officers responded for the report of a single vehicle crash. As a result of the investigation Shelly

McKinney, 41, of Bedford was taken into custody and transported to the Magistrate where a warrant

was obtained by officers for driving under the influence. McKinney was held on a secured bond.

November 18, 2023 – 8:20PM

Officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic stop. As a result of

the traffic stop Lindsey Rothman, 39, of Lynchburg was taken into custody and transported to the

Magistrate where charges for driving under the influence and reckless driving by speed were obtained.

Fraud

November 18, 2023 – 8:20PM

Officers made contact with a subject by phone in reference to a fraud. The caller advised there were

fraudulent purchases on their Lowe’s credit card. The recent transactions had been conducted at the

Bedford Lowe’s. The Patrol Division is investigating. (Incident #2307475)

November 22, 2023 – 5:35PM

Officers responded to Walmart for the report of a subject that was found on video to be shoplifting.

Officers responded and spoke with Susan Gonzin, 34, of Moneta and subsequently issued her a

summons for petit larceny. (Incident #2307496)

November 22, 2023 – 9:10PM

Officers responded to Walmart for the report of a subject who failed to scan all of the items in their cart

in the self-checkout aisle. Amber Cadiero 35, of Bedford was issued a summons for petit larceny on

scene. (Incident #2307498)


Warrant Service

900+ Blue Ridge Ave

November 24, 2023 – 3:46PM

Officers were patrolling the 900 block of Blue Ridge Avenue when they observed a vehicle equipment

violation that resulted in a traffic stop. The vehicle pulled into an apartment complex and the driver got

out and began to run from officers. Officers initiated a foot pursuit and approximately thirty minutes

later with the assistance of a Bedford County Sheriff’s Office K-9, the male was apprehended. Harry

Cabell, 35, of Gladstone was transported to the jail where he was served on his outstanding capiases

from Lynchurg, Amherst, and Appomattox. Officers also obtained warrants for obstruction and driving

November 25, 2023 – 11:16AM

Officers initiated a traffic stop while in the 900 block of Blue Ridge Avenue. During the traffic stop

officers located suspected narcotics. The Patrol Division is investigating. (Incident #2307538)


Warrant Service

212 E Washington St

November 27, 2023 – 9:01PM

Officers responded to the area of Elba’s Butcher Shoppe for a disturbance. Officers were later advised by

dispatch that one of the subjects involved had a capias out of Lynchburg for five probation violations.

Charles Clark, 56, of Bedford was taken to the Magistrate where he was served the capias. He was given

a secured bond. (Incident #2307587)


Larceny – Shoplifting

1126 E Lynchburg Salem Tpke

November 27, 2023 – 10:39PM

Officers responded to the Bedford Walmart for a report of a larceny. Asset protection advised officers

that a female subject had apparently concealed items in her purse. After further investigation, Nikki

Chambers, 39, of Bedford was issued a summons for petit larceny and given an advisement date.

Larceny – Shoplifting/Warrant Service

1126 E Lynchburg Salem Tpke

November 22, 2023 – 10:39PM

Officers responded to the Bedford Walmart for the report of a larceny. Asset protection advised officers

that a female subject was seen concealing items in her purse. Officers later discovered the female had a

felony warrant out of Bedford for possession of scheduled substances. Stephania Long, 45, of Bedford

was taken into custody and transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail where she was served the

outstanding felony warrant and officers obtained a petit larceny charge. (Incident #2307592)
