Larceny (Shoplifting)

558 Blue Ridge Ave

June 1st, 2025 – 4:18 PM

Officers responded to Dollar General on Blue Ridge Avenue for a report of stolen alcohol. The suspect

had already left the store, but a license plate number was obtained. A warrant was later obtained for

Dalton Johnson, 30, of Bedford, for larceny. He was transported to Blue Ridge Regional Jail, but due to

his intoxication, the magistrate held him until sober before conducting a bond hearing. (Incident #PD25-

00698)


DUI Arrest

460 East

July 2nd, 2025 – 1:16 AM

Officers stopped a vehicle after learning the license plate was inactive. The driver admitted to having a

suspended license. Dispatch confirmed the driver was also wanted out of Lynchburg for failure to

appear. Clarence Epps, 41, of Farmville, was arrested for the active warrant and transported to the

magistrate. Additional warrants were obtained for DUI, driving suspended, and displaying fraudulent

decals. He was held without bond. (Incident #PD25-00700)


DUI Arrest

Independence Blvd / Cheatham Park Dr

July 2nd, 2025 – 8:22 PM

Officers responded to the 1000 block of Independence Boulevard for a motor vehicle accident with a

reported entrapment. Devon Sutton, 54, of Bedford, was later transported to the magistrate, where a

DUI warrant was obtained. He was held on a secured bond. (Incident #PD25-00704)


DUI Arrest

700+ Blue Ridge Ave

July 3rd, 2025 – 11:07 AM

While patrolling the 800 block of Blue Ridge Avenue, officers observed suspicious driving behavior that


led to a traffic stop. Sean Johnson, 49, of Bedford, was arrested and transported to the magistrate’s

office, where a DUI warrant was obtained. He was held until sober. (Incident #PD25-00707)


Fraud

800+ E Main St

July 3rd, 2025 – 11:22 AM

An individual reported identity theft after discovering a credit card on their credit report they did not

own. The caller needed a police report to provide to the credit reporting agency. (Incident #PD25-

00706)


Larceny

1500+ Newton Cir

July 6th, 2025 – 4:27 PM

Officers responded to the 1500 block of Newton Circle for a larceny. The complainant reported items

missing from their jewelry box. The Patrol Division is investigating. (Incident #PD25-00718)


Assault

875 Blue Ridge Ave

July 8th, 2025 – 3:51 PM

Officers responded to Royal Farms on Blue Ridge Avenue for a disturbance between a customer and an

employee. The investigation revealed a customer had thrown a drink at an employee. The employee

declined to press charges, but the customer was barred from the property. (Incident #PD25-00727)


Larceny

July 9th, 2025 – 3:05 PM

An individual reported over the phone that they had lost their wallet and believed it may have been

stolen. The Patrol Division is investigating. (Incident #PD25-00734)


Larceny (Shoplifting)

1126 E Lynchburg Salem Tpke

July 10th, 2025 – 12:46 PM

Officers responded to Walmart for a shoplifting incident. April McCrickard, 41, of Goode, was issued a

summons for petit larceny and given a court advisement date. (Incident #PD25-00735)


Warrant Service

600+ Pinecrest Ave

July 11th, 2025 – 2:15 AM

While in the area for another call, officers ran a tag on a nearby vehicle. The registered owner, Janie

Payne, 50, of Bedford, was wanted on a capias out of Lynchburg. Payne was transported to the

magistrate, served, and released on an unsecured bond. Officers provided a courtesy ride back to her

vehicle. (Incident #PD25-00736)


Fraud

1500+ Shady Knoll Ave

July 11th, 2025 – 8:00 AM

A caller reported receiving a phone call from a male identifying himself as “Officer Carson,” claiming her

cousin had been arrested and needed help posting bond. No personal information was shared, and the

incident was reported as a scam attempt. (Incident #PD25-00737)


Destruction of Property

1100+ Ashland Ave

July 12th, 2025 – 10:54 AM

Officers responded to a report of property damage to a vehicle. The complainant showed officers a

shattered rear passenger window. There were no signs of forced entry. A case number was provided for

insurance purposes. (Incident #PD25-00742)


Warrant Service

1600+ Longwood Ave

July 13th, 2025 – 8:44 PM

Officers conducting radar on Longwood Avenue stopped a vehicle speeding at a visibly high rate. The

driver, Brandon Giambanco, 23, of Bedford, was wanted on a capias out of Campbell County. He was

transported to the magistrate, served, and held on a secured bond. A summons for speeding was also

issued. (Incident #PD25-00746)


DUI Arrest

862 Burks Hill Rd

July 15th, 2025 – 9:58 PM

Officers observed a vehicle parked across three spots at the Shell Station on Burks Hill Road and

contacted the driver. Chasity Harris, 48, of Forest, was arrested for DUI and transported to Blue Ridge

Regional Jail, where she was granted a secured bond. (Incident #PD25-00753)


Burglary

1100+ Maiden Ln

July 18th, 2025 – 9:58 AM

Officers responded to the 1100 block of Maiden Lane for a larceny report. The complainant advised

multiple tools were missing from a home under renovation. The Detective Bureau is investigating.

Pursuit

1128 E Lynchburg Salem Tpke

July 18th, 2025 – 4:03 PM

While patrolling East Main Street, officers recognized a male known to drive without a license. When a

traffic stop was attempted, the driver fled, reaching speeds up to 100 MPH before striking a curb and

guardrail. The driver, Tram Deo, 62, of Danville, fled on foot but was apprehended. He was transported

to the magistrate, where warrants for felony eluding, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving

without a license were obtained. He was held on a secured bond. (Incident #PD25-00765)


Fraud

215 E Main St

July 20th, 2025 – 2:00 PM

An individual reported nearly falling victim to a PayPal scam. After receiving a suspicious message with a

link and phone number, the caller phoned the number but quickly realized it was fraudulent and

contacted police. No financial loss occurred. (Incident #PD25-00774)


Public Intoxication

1700+ Longwood Ave

July 22nd, 2025 – 10:52 PM

Officers responded to Longwood Avenue for a disorderly subject. Joshua Goff, 29, of Bedford, was

located near the roadway and arrested for public intoxication. He was transported to the magistrate and

held until sober. (Incident #PD25-00780)


Fraud

300+ E Franklin St

July 23rd, 2025 – 12:18 PM

A caller reported possible unemployment fraud. They had filed for unemployment years ago but never

received payment, despite records showing funds were issued. (Incident #PD25-00785)


DUI Arrest

800+ Peaks St

July 24th, 2025 – 10:22 PM

Officers stopped a vehicle in the Longwood Avenue area for an equipment violation. Jason Miller, 51, of

Bedford, was transported to the magistrate, where warrants were obtained for DUI, refusal, possession

of a Schedule I/II controlled substance, and driving suspended. A bond hearing was scheduled once he

was sober. (Incident #PD25-00793)


DUI Arrest

1300+ Longwood Ave

July 25th, 2025 – 9:48 AM

Officers responded to a BOLO for a possible impaired driver. The vehicle was located, and a traffic stop

was conducted. David Byron, 66, of Blue Ridge, was transported to the magistrate, where a DUI warrant

was obtained. (Incident #PD25-00796)


Possible Narcotics

1111 Turnpike Rd

July 29th, 2025 – 2:19 PM

Officers stopped a vehicle with a cracked windshield and mismatched tags. The driver admitted the tags

did not belong to the vehicle and that it was uninsured. The vehicle was towed, and suspected narcotics

were located inside. The Patrol Division is investigating. (Incident #PD25-00810)


Public Intoxication

600+ Pinecrest Ave

July 30th, 2025 – 4:51 PM

Officers responded to Pinecrest Avenue for a report of an intoxicated subject. Earl Overstreet, 62, of

Bedford, was arrested for public intoxication and transported to jail, where he was held until sober.

False ID to Law Enforcement

1126 E Lynchburg Salem Tpke

July 30th, 2025 – 6:50 PM

Officers responded to Walmart for a disturbance involving a male subject yelling at bystanders. Walmart

requested the individual be trespassed from the property. The subject initially gave officers a false

name, later identified as Perry Miller, 36, of New York. He was found to have two active warrants in

Bedford and an active capias out of Lynchburg. Miller was arrested and transported to the magistrate,


where a warrant for false ID was obtained. When placed under oath, Miller again gave a false name,

resulting in an additional warrant for perjury. He was held without bond. (Incident #PD25-00821)
